We made it! Let,s see…we left Friday night and now it is 6:15 Sunday morning. After a good night’s sleep in a charming inn (www.netherabbey.co.uk) I think we are ready to take on Scotland. Here,s the view from our window.
Mike did a great job navigating the round-a-bouts,interstate, and winding lanes and the GPS brought us to the front door of the hotel. I, on the other hand, was a bit distressed by the reverse direction on the roads. Today will be much easier as we meander around here for the morning and then head into Edinburgh.
North Berwick is charming with a high and low street, quaint homes, ruins and churches.
Of course their is golf everywhere and just maybe today we might find ourselves testing our skills on one of the links courses close by.
Did I mention dinner? We were lured into the hotel lobby restaurant by the sights and smells. After a walk around the village we devoured some pate and a fresh lobster just pulled from the sea. Delicious.
What will the day bring? I watch the grays and blues of the sky and anticipate discovery, nail-biting round a bouts and much exploring. The seagulls are calling and the sun is peeking through on the horizon.
I can’t believe I am actually looking out at the North Sea.
